On behalf of the NYAPRS Conference Committee, Board of Directors and the NYAPRS staff, we are very pleased to announce the 28th Annual Conference, Whole Self, Whole Health, Whole Lives, which will be held at the Hudson Valley Resort & Conference Center in Kerhonkson, NY, September 22-24, 2010. We are very proud that the NYAPRS Annual Conference has come to be recognized as one of the nation’s finest opportunities to share and celebrate advances in promoting the recovery, rehabilitation and rights of people with psychiatric disabilities. We regularly hear of the high degree of energizing inspiration and timely information, the critically important networking opportunities and new friends and partners conference attendees have gained from coming to the NYAPRS Conference in the fall and sharing in the NYAPRS experience.

 In keeping with this years’ conference theme, our program seeks to highlight innovations that help us overcome systemic and personal barriers in ways that best help people with psychiatric disabilities to live, work, learn and fully participate in their communities.

Over the course of the three days of the conference, we will offer a chocked-full program with over 75 workshops & plenary presentations and an expanded Health, Healing & Arts Fair that will celebrate and advance several key themes, most notably Health and Healing, Advocacy and Empowerment, Self Determination, Community Integration, New and Exemplary Models, Peer Support and Peer-Run Services, PROS and Clinic Initiatives, Cultural and Linguistic Competence, and Administration and Management. 

Once again this year, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of two Catskill hotels, with new amenities and ongoing shuttles for the convenience of your stay. Headquarters, conference workshops and activities will be at the Hudson Valley Resort & Spa, set amid 400 acres of majestic landscapes and surrounded by the fabled Shawangunk Mountains (www.hudsonvalleyresort.com). Conference attendees will also be able to choose to stay at a nearby familiar alternative site at the Honor's Haven Resort & Spa (formerly known as the Fallsview), which offers  golf, scenic walks as well as a full course breakfast to start the day before taking a short shuttle ride to NYAPRS activities (www.honorshaven.com).

Please remember that our rates for the conference program are all-inclusive: one price pays for all conference programs, lodging and meals! See the registration form for rates. We offer scholarships to New Yorkers who have not attended the conference in the past. You can download the scholarship form or call the office and have one mailed or faxed to you.
